Advancing the global digital economy: Dubai hosts GITEX Global 2022

In October 2022, the world's largest technological expo for over 41 years was held. This yearly tech event showcases the most recent advancements and developments from industries including cloud computing, metaverse, AI, web3, and metaverse. The Dubai World Trade Center hosted the show in the United Arab Emirates.

October 14, 2022 - Gulf Information Technology Exhibition is known as GITEX. The conference, which was held from October 10 to 14, outperformed its prior iteration by hosting more than 5,000 exhibitors throughout 26 halls and 2 million square feet. The driving force behind the GITEX Global 2022 event brought together major startups, IT entrepreneurs, and investors on a single stage with over 170,000 people from 170 countries. More than 250 government organizations spearheading important digital initiatives and public-private partnerships, as well as more than 1,000 startups looking for their next big break, was present at the GITEX Global 2022 event in North Star Dubai.

Through the sheer force of innovation, GITEX Global united the most powerful ecosystems in the world, benefiting business, the economy, society, and culture. The event drew a wide range of attendees, including IT specialists, startup owners, and leaders in the sector. GITEX evolved into a top-tier technology exposition that brought the public closer to technological advancements. The event features a variety of must-attend industry-related conversations, debates, demonstrations, and trade of the most recent innovations.

The biggest, most diverse tech and startup event in the world introduced a host of tech-powered revolutions and forward-thinking ideas, including the transcendent potential of 6G and the enormous virtual commercial networks of the metaverse.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of Nigeria, the State Minister of Innovation and Research Sector of Ethiopia, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, and startups at the event among the world's top companies and start-ups showcasing ground-breaking applications in the metaverse, AI, Web 3.0, blockchain, 6G, cloud computing, fintech, and more were among the African key influencers who contributed to the event's remarkable growth.

Breaking down geographical barriers, North Star Dubai also debuted "Africa Fast 100," the largest ever meeting of African entrepreneurs held outside of the continent, which brought together investors and potential unicorn businesses from the world's burgeoning innovation incubator.

GITEX Global 2022 was a resounding success. Global interest in the UAE and its area as a developing global IT hub is increasing. 52% new exhibitors joined the event in 2022, picking it and the UAE as their top partners for market access initiatives.
